Job description

Valley Baptist Physician Network is actively seeking an Interventional Cardiologist in Harlingen, TX. This is a unique opportunity to transition into a thriving group, with strong mentorship available.
Highlights:
  • Full-time, employed opportunity based out of Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX
  • Practice is located in the Medical Arts Pavilion connected to Valley Baptist Medical Center - a short walk to the Hospital's Cath Lab
  • Clinic operates Monday-Friday
  • Average of 25 patients in the clinic per day and an average of 10-15 surgeries per week initially
  • On-call schedule determined by group in coordination with the Hospital. Cardiology on-call panel includes 10 other providers; thus call schedule for this position would be approximately 3 days/month.
  • 4 Cath Lab Suites (Cardiac, EP & Neuro capabilities)
  • Valley Baptist Medical Center has a robust Clinical Research Department available for proposed research at the hospital.
  • The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is located in the area and is open to community providers participating in teaching opportunities in the academic setting.

Candidate Requirements:
  • MD or DO
  • BE/BE in Interventional Cardiology
  • Licensed in Texas or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas

Scope of Practice:
Our Heart & Vascular team provides a full spectrum of cardiovascular services, including:
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
  • Device implantation and management
  • Minimally invasive and advanced treatment options for complex cardiac conditions
  • Preventive and rehabilitative cardiovascular programs

You'll join a team addressing conditions such as coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease. Physicians also have access to a robust clinical research department and potential teaching opportunities through the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
