Job description

Responsible for leading all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.
Main responsibilities include:
  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
  • Oversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
  • Manage and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
  • Manage all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
  • Lead Flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
  • Lead their team in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SIS tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
  • Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.
  • Support the Engine, Transmission, e-components (EDM, Motors) or Chassis (Battery Tray, Cradles, Cross Car Beams)
  • Drive standardization across plants in all regions
  • Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure
  • Support Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) initiatives
  • Center of Competency facilities support for NAFTA region

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or HS Diploma/GED and 5 years of technical / engineering experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must have strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present data to all levels of the company in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to implement SPW principles and ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment
  • Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated abilities to plan and execute large scale projects in time and budget
  • Ability to effectively lead, teach, coach and mentor employees
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop the best teams
  • Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plus
  • High demonstration of leadership and teamwork characteristics
  • Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge, G Suite applications a plus
  • Must be able to travel 21%-40%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
