Job description

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating! We are seeking a House Attendant (Overnight) who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together while caring deeply about our brand.
We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. The ideal House Attendant (Overnight) will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.
The purpose of the House Attendant is to maintain a professional, positive and upbeat attitude. The host is responsible for distributing clean linens to closets, and ensuring our Laundry Department receives all dirty linens to be washed. The host is responsible to clean, and supply all assigned areas, including room attendant carts, storage rooms, and public areas. The host will provide support to the housekeeping department by running supplies as needed to room attendants and guests upon requests and maintain all floors in a clean and safe manner. This is done all in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all dirty linen and trash gets taken from departure rooms
  • Keeps all guest corridors and stairways neat, clean, vacuumed, and dusted
  • Shampoos and extracts carpets, polishes/buffs floors as outlined by Executive Housekeeper on floor schedule and as needed/requested
  • Cleans all linen closets on all 6 floors and empties trash on all floors
  • Restocks guestroom supplies in the linen closets daily
  • Delivers guest requested items when requested by guests
  • Assists the Room Attendants by ensuring linen-chute storage area is clear and blue laundry bins are provided for soiled linen
  • Delivers linen from the laundry to the floors as needed
  • Offers all assistance possible to the guests
  • Assists during deep cleaning times with tasks such as turning mattresses, moving furniture, cleaning bunk beds, and removing sheers and drapes
  • Empties trash from housekeeping areas
  • Transports trash and waste to central disposal area
  • Delivers roll-a-way beds and cribs to guests

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time
Education and Experience Required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen

Physical and Cognitive Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs. utilizing company's safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job. i.e.: stooping, bending, elevated level of manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etc
