Position Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the community, ensuring exceptional resident care, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and occupancy growth. What You'll Do

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead the overall operations of the community while ensuring exceptional service and resident satisfaction.

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team and staff.

  • Foster a positive, resident-centered culture focused on compassion, accountability, and excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations and policies.

  • Oversee staffing, hiring, employee development, performance management, and retention.

Resident Experience

  • Promote an exceptional quality of life for residents through outstanding service and engagement.

  • Support resident satisfaction and retention initiatives.

  • Ensure resident admissions, assessments, documentation, and care processes are completed accurately and timely.

  • Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of resident care and medication management.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage the community's operating and capital budgets.

  • Drive occupancy and revenue while maintaining financial accountability.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and control expenses.

  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to support census growth and community success.

Community Relations

  • Serve as the ambassador for the community by building strong relationships with residents, families, referral partners, and local organizations.

  • Represent Distinctive Living through networking, community events, and professional associations.

  • Promote a positive reputation within the local market.

Property Management

  • Ensure the community, grounds, and building are maintained to the highest standards.

  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs and routine property inspections to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For
  • 2-4+ years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related industry.

  • Previous Executive Director or community leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams, managing operations, and achieving occupancy and financial goals.

  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, employees, and community partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.

  • Current state administrator licensure/certification, as required.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
