Job description

Section Head - Radiology

The primary purpose of the Section Head position is to provide healthcare services and work closely with the Executive Director and Radiologists to supervise and perform technical procedures in the department of Radiology. Coordinates the day-to-day activity of all Diagnostic Radiology Sections with a focus on Weekends. Contributes and functions as a cohesive member of the department, ensuring that all interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators, and other members of the hospital staff are professional and in accordance with the established guidelines of the institution. The Section Head oversees and performs general radiography. The Section Head oversees CT, MRI, Angiography, Ultrasound & Clerical representing the department for all contingencies. Assures all studies are appropriate for the interpretation of a licensed practitioner. The Section Head ensures all staff and equipment complies to all regulatory requirements and is responsible for overseeing the actual activities needed to achieve (ARDMS, JCH and ACR). Performs procedures on patient's newborn to maturity.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current NJ DEP license and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate must have the following skills:
  • Excellent customer service skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy are required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with good verbal and written English skills.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and perform duties effectively in stressful/emergency situations.
  • Must be able to work independently and complete assignment with minimal supervision.
  • At least five (5) years of Hospital experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is SH/29C: $43.90 - $53.89 - $63.88 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
