About the Role

We are seeking a strong, mission-driven Executive Director of Hospice to lead the overall operations of one of our affiliated hospice agencies. In this role, you will provide strategic and operative leadership while ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, team development, and financial performance. This position plays a critical role in driving growth, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and compassion.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for hospice operations
  • Ensure compliance with CMS Hospice Conditions of Participation (42 CFR Part 418) and applicable state licensing regulations
  • Maintain survey readiness and uphold quality and documentation standards
  • Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and operational sustainability
  • Lead and develop interdisciplinary teams, ensuring appropriate staffing and competency standards
  • Oversee the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) process and Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
  • Support census growth through community partnerships and referral development
  • Promote a culture of compassion, professionalism, and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, emergency preparedness, and infection control standards
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems and operational data to guide decision-making
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in hospice or a related healthcare setting (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of CMS Hospice Conditions of Participation and state hospice regulations (required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of operation (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred)
