The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) construction methodologies and has a proven track record leading construction teams, managing project budgets, maintaining customer relationships, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage multiple aerial and underground fiber optic construction projects simultaneouslyOversee aerial construction, underground conduit installation, trenching, directional drilling, rock sawing, restoration, and utility relocationsLead Construction Supervisors, Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and vendorsDevelop and manage project schedules, budgets, purchase orders, labor forecasts, and material planningMonitor project profitability, production, revenue, equipment utilization, and overall financial performanceEnsure projects comply with customer specifications, engineering standards, permits, and local regulationsConduct project review meetings and provide regular updates to customers and executive leadershipCoordinate activities between Operations, Engineering, Safety, Project Management, and Field Construction teamsPerform critical path analysis and proactively identify schedule risks, resource conflicts, and operational challengesResolve project issues quickly while maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiencyReview production reports, as-built documentation, invoices, change orders, and project closeout packagesPromote a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvementSupport business development activities, project planning, RFIs, RFPs, and customer presentations as neededRequired QualificationsMinimum 7 years of telecommunications construction management experienceStrong experience managing both aerial and underground OSP construction projectsThorough understanding of fiber optic deployment, coaxial construction, aerial strand construction, underground conduit installation, directional drilling, rock saw operations, restoration, and utility constructionProven experience managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, vendors, and field resourcesStrong knowledge of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and change managementExperience working directly with telecommunications carriers, municipalities, utilities, engineering firms, and customersStrong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft ProjectValid Driver's License with an acceptable driving recordAuthorization to work in the United StatesPreferred QualificationsBilingual English and SpanishExperience with telecommunications construction management softwareExperience managing large-scale broadband deployment programsOSHA 30 CertificationPMP Certification or Construction Management certificationsKnowledge of California utility permitting and restoration requirementsExperience with FTTH, FTTX, HFC, broadband, and municipal fiber projectsExperience supporting both union and non-union construction environmentsPhysical RequirementsThis position requires regular travel to active construction sites, including aerial and underground work locations. Candidates must be able to walk uneven terrain, climb embankments, inspect active construction operations, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
