Executive Development Program information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an Executive Development Program, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Executive Development Program, candidates typically need a strong academic background, leadership experience, and analytical thinking skills. Familiarity with business management tools, data analysis software, and sometimes completion of assessments like the GMAT or leadership potential tests are common requirements. Outstanding interpersonal communication, adaptability, and strategic problem-solving distinguish top participants. These skills and qualities are critical for developing future leaders who can drive organizational success and manage complex business challenges.

What is an Executive Development Program?

An Executive Development Program (EDP) is a specialized training initiative designed to enhance the leadership, strategic, and management skills of current or aspiring executives. These programs typically include coursework, workshops, and experiential learning that focus on topics such as decision-making, organizational strategy, and change management. EDPs are often offered by universities or business schools and may be tailored for specific industries or organizational needs. Participants gain valuable insights, expand their professional networks, and are better prepared to take on higher-level leadership roles.

What are some common challenges participants face during an Executive Development Program and how can they be addressed?

Participants in an Executive Development Program often face challenges such as balancing intensive coursework with existing work responsibilities, adapting to a fast-paced learning environment, and building effective peer networks. To overcome these, it's helpful to manage time proactively, leverage support from mentors and program facilitators, and actively participate in group projects and networking events. Many programs also offer coaching and flexible learning options to help participants stay on track and maximize their development.

This role is designed for a learning professional who thrives in cohort-based leadership development environments and brings the depth of skill required to deliver a more elevated, enterprise-level LDP.
This position will play a critical role in implementing a newly drafted leadership development curriculum across the organization, with a heavy focus on cohort-based development for emerging and high-potential senior leaders. While the program foundation has been established, this role owns bringing it to life - executing with excellence, refining through feedback, and continuously improving the experience and impact.
The Talent Development Specialist partners closely with HR and business leaders to deliver practical, high-impact learning experiences that strengthen leadership capability, support succession planning, and build Tech Etch's future leadership bench.

  • Facilitate engaging, discussion-driven leadership cohorts, workshops, and learning sessions (in-person and virtual).
  • Translate leadership concepts into practical, applied learning that leaders can immediately use in their roles.
  • Design, refine, and enhance learning materials including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, exercises, and presentations using adult learning best practices.
  • Partner with HR, executives, and functional leaders to align leadership development initiatives with organizational strategy, succession planning, and business priorities.
  • Gather participant feedback and assess outcomes to iteratively strengthen program effectiveness and impact.
  • Track training participation, completion, and effectiveness using the LMS or other tracking tools.
  • Support leadership pipeline and succession initiatives through targeted development experiences.
  • Take ownership of existing leadership development content and programs, making them stronger, more engaging, and more impactful over time.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in learning, leadership development, or talent development roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating cohort-based leadership development programs, ideally for mid-level or senior leaders.
  • Strong facilitation and instructional presence with the ability to engage, challenge, and develop leaders.
  • Proven ability to execute existing programs while continuously improving and elevating them.
  • Prior teaching, instructional, or professional facilitation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or operations environment preferred but not required.
  • Highly organized, execution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a "build, deliver, improve" environment.

BENEFITS
  • Competitive Pay with Bonus Potential
