Job description

The Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR), Division of Security Operations (DSO), Information Security Branch (ISB), mission is critical efforts in the review and declassification of historical classified documents.

The Alternate Declassification Program Manager plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with Executive Order 13526 and Department of Energy (DOE) classification policies, contributing to national transparency and historical accountability. Candidates will work with sensitive materials requiring Top Secret clearance and must demonstrate expertise in classification protocols, analytical review, and secure document handling.

The Alternate Declassification Program Manager Will:
  • Serve as the designated alternate to the NRC’s Declassification Program Manager.
  • Oversee and coordinate declassification activities in compliance with Executive Order 13526.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to review teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of classified historical records.
  • Liaise with NRC leadership and external agencies on declassification matters.
