Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Defensive Cyber Consultant to support the Department of Defense's ongoing mission for the Defensive Cyber Command Center at Ft. Meade, MD. The program needs an individual who can address senior command requirements, subordinate commands information, as well as security operations for a critical command center. Details below: Clearance: TS/SCI required Location: Ft. Meade, MD This job opens for applications on 8/11/2026. Applications for this job will be accepted for at least 30 days from the posting date Responsibilities of the Sr. Defensive Cyber Consultant: * Develop enterprise cybersecurity defense strategies for DODIN cloud, network, cross-domain, and endpoint environments.
* Analyze cybersecurity architectures, policies, and threat data to identify vulnerabilities and improve security operations.
* Brief senior military leadership, including General and Flag Officers, on cybersecurity risks and recommendations.
* Conduct cyber situational awareness analysis and recommended enhancements to monitoring capabilities.
* Perform enterprise-wide threat analysis and implemented defensive strategies across cloud, network, gateway, and endpoint environments.
Qualifications of the Sr. Defensive Cyber Consultant: * Active TS/SCI clearance * Bachelor's degree or higher in IT Management/related technical field and at least Eight (8) years' experience plus one (1) of any of the following certifications: Microsoft certifications (Azure, data & AI, Dynamics 365, modern workplace, business applications, etc), Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, VWware, Oracle, Cisco Certifications, ITIL 4 Foundation Level/IT Service Management, PMP, Agile/Scum, Certified Information Systems Security (Manager or professional)
* Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II, Security +ce.
* Application knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement
* Knowledge of Local Area Networks (LANs), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Wide Area Networks (WANs), cloud computing, data center, server, and other communications systems to identify and resolve system and network issues.
* Knowledge of common DoW services and devices and the applications and processes that provide protection of the data or the transactional path to provide the data.
* Ability to provide strategic inputs for computer system operational design, documentation, and proposal review; identify communication service requirements, system architectures and designs; perform analysis, design and create integration or implementation plans with required documentation for legacy and future systems to ensure compliance with DCDC leadership vision and design.
* Ability to communicate (writing, editing and verbalizing) at both a technical and non-technical level and provide General Officer or Senior Level Executive products and documentation.
* Experience in writing, reviewing and/or editing technical documents, Concept of Operations, and Training Plans.
* Demonstrated experience in multiple large scale IT systems.
* Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies (other as a Service offerings may be considered).
* In-depth understanding of military orders and the military decision-making process.
Compensation of the Sr. Defensive Cyber Consultant: * Total compensation based on experience level - $150,000-$180,000+ **based on experience level**
