Job description

Position: Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) Configuration Management / System Integrator, Senior

OVERVIEW

The candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with standard procedures to configuration management of engineering and technical projects. Candidate will oversee and advise government program management on integration across full spectrum of interfaces to include coordination with multiple mission partners. This skilled individual will work in a small, highly empowered team located in Albuquerque, NM (vicinity of Kirtland AFB, NM). Travel potential up to 30% of time within the continental United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO).
  • Perform basic and complex data research and analysis to support management, engineering, and technical projects.
  • Propose, develop, and implement standard procedures for configuration management to engineering, and technical projects.
  • Maintain software/hardware management plans and procedures to ensure accountability of all COTS, GOTS, and associated hardware and software, including licenses.
  • Prepare data formats, collect, interpret, analyze, and enter data into spreadsheets to develop and produce reports, information, data, and documentation.
  • Record, track, and maintain status documents.
  • Develop special reports and progress reports.
  • Perform data resource management duties such as the development, execution, and performance tracking of plans, policies, and programs.
  • Assist engineers and staff in determining requirements for current and future projects.
  • Track and integrate Open Mission Systems, Enterprise Ground Solutions, and Universal Command and Control Interface standards to enable affordable tech refresh and insertion, simplify mission system integration, and enhance service interoperability.
  • Oversee and advise government program management on integration across full spectrum of interfaces, to include coordination with multiple mission partners.
  • Oversee program and capability documentation to ensure it is sufficiently defined to operationally needed levels.
  • Oversee configuration and integration working groups and coordinate with management to ensure interface definitions support delivery milestones. Provide system and subsystem integration technical expertise to emerging space-related mission areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility (no less than 2 years total SAP and/or SCI environment experience, with 1-year total within last 5 years) and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph. Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Relevant MA/MS/ME degree. Professional Engineering license desired but not required.
  •  Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience
  • Exceptional qualifications in organizational management and integration. Understanding of space operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
  • Knowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturing
  • Experience in DoD program management including program development and transition. Experience with Integrated Master Schedules, Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS), and risk management.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Five (5) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCI
  • System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program office
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Experience with integrated air, space and cyberspace capabilities
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs
  • Experience in planning and executing test campaigns for space systems
  • Experience with IC organizations
