NexGen is looking for a Project Executive to join the concrete team!
Responsibilities

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is based in Franklin, TN, and specializes in executing turnkey project scopes, including concrete, steel, millwright, and finishes. NexGen is fully integrated with Gray Construction and serves as a preferred subcontractor. The NexGen team is made up of career, trade-specific professionals, and core craftsmen with decades of experience who are dedicated to meeting our customers' unique needs.
Position Overview:
NexGen Contracting is searching for a forward-thinking Project Executive for our Concrete Division. This key leadership position will oversee project teams and manage a portfolio of concrete construction projects, ensuring alignment with NexGen's strategic objectives, adherence to safety protocols, and fulfillment of quality standards, all while driving profitable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring they meet safety, quality, performance standards, and financial goals within budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Strengthen relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and partnership, and serve as the primary customer contact, especially when issues escalate beyond the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager level.
  • Guide project teams towards excellence, setting clear goals, offering feedback, promoting professional growth, and ensuring the completion of essential documentation and meetings.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, AP and AR processes, and change order management, while monitoring project metrics and KPIs for data-driven decisions.
  • Implement and monitor comprehensive risk management practices, ensuring all potential project risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and communicated effectively.
  • Ensure comprehensive project documentation, from start-up meetings to detailed project health reviews, and maintain systematic tracking of action items and project deliverables.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and resolve project hurdles to ensure successful project delivery while ensuring contractual terms are understood and adhered to by all parties.
  • Mentor and train project management staff, fostering an environment of learning and professional development within NexGen's vision, core values, and mission statement.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by at least 2 years of experience in a Senior Project Management (or equivalent) role.
  • Proven ability to ensure project success through effective planning, design, and execution, with demonstrated leadership in managing large, diverse teams and multi-regional projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, MS Project, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with construction project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and CMIC.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of leading teams, negotiating effectively, and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 75% of the time, to meet project needs and stakeholder engagements.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills, combined with a strong ability to solve problems, plan resources efficiently, and schedule projects effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to excellence, safety, and continuous improvement within all project phases.
  • Deep knowledge of construction procedures, particularly in concrete construction, with the ability to proactively identify and address potential project issues.

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.
Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.
