Senior Executive Assistant to the Managing Partner (Minneapolis, MN) (#4076)

Join Dorsey as aSenior Executive Assistantsupporting the Managing Partner, General Counsel, and C‑suite in a high‑impact position at the center of firm operations. You’ll align complex calendars and priorities, plan purposeful leadership and client meetings, craft executive‑ready communications, coordinate global travel, and drive follow‑through on strategic initiatives, all with impeccable judgment and discretion. With a focus on partnership and execution, this role will strengthen relationships across the firm, improve processes for speed and quality, and deliver clear, actionable insights that keep leadership centered on key objectives. In this role, you will:

  • Manage complex calendars for the Managing Partner, General Counsel, and C‑suite; prioritize requests, resolve scheduling conflicts, triage inbound items, and protect executive time.

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-level client meetings, including agenda development, content preparation, as well as owning and advancing follow-up actions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Coordinate executive-level meetings, including preparation of agendas, gathering briefing materials, and ensuring follow-up on key action items.

  • Draft and refine executive communications, presentations, and concise briefings; ensure clear, consistent, professional messaging.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders; build trusted relationships and represent leadership with professionalism and discretion.

  • Coordinate domestic and international travel; prepare detailed itineraries and manage changes and contingencies.

  • Prepare and process expense reimbursements in accordance with firm policies; maintain accurate records.

  • Maintain confidential files and records with high accuracy; handle highly sensitive information with sound judgment and ethical standards.

  • Track strategic initiatives and special projects; manage timelines and deliverables, flag risks, and prepare concise status updates and reports.

  • Conduct research and compile decision-support materials to inform executive decision-making and firm initiatives.

  • Anticipate executive needs and proactively manage administrative priorities to ensure efficient daily operations.

  • Partner with administrative teams and departments to streamline scheduling, workflows, approvals, and document control for seamless support across leadership.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

What we’re looking for:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

  • At least 10 years of executive administrative support experience, preferably supporting senior leaders within a professional services or legal environment.

  • Understanding of law firm structures, partner dynamics, client service standards, and the complexities of a global practice.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to draft polished materials and synthesize complex information succinctly.

  • Proven track record of meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and consistent, reliable execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment and diplomacy.

  • Strong client-service orientation, and the ability to collaborate across departments and practice areas.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration tools; familiarity with document management systems; ability to learn firm-specific systems quickly.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluid priorities; able to manage competing demands and multiple executives.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues across the firm.

  • Ability to work outside standard business hours as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience arranging complex international travel and providing real-time support.

The pay range for this position in Minnesota only is an annual salary of $85,680 to $110,880.

This range represents Dorsey’s good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and location and may fall outside of the range indicated.
