Executive Assistant - Town Manager's Office
The Opportunity
The Town of Mansfield, Connecticut (www.mansfieldct.gov), the home of UCONN, is seeking to fill the Executive Assistant position in the Office of the Town Manager. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with a strong administrative and communications skillset. Additionally, candidates must be adept at establishing collaborative working relationships with town staff, town officials, and the general public.
Reporting to the Town Manager, the position provides administrative and clerical support to the Town Manager's Office (including Human Resources), Town Council, and assigned boards and commissions; prepares, posts and distributes Council and Committee agendas, minutes, and packets; administers online meeting technology; prepares and/or supports the preparation of reports and briefing materials; maintains the Town Manager's schedule; responds to and follows up on citizen inquiries; coordinates special projects and events; maintains filing systems and records; and processes invoices.

Mansfield operates under the Council-Manager form of government, with the Town Manager serving as the Chief Executive Officer responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Town under the policy direction of a nine-member elected Town Council.
Work Schedule & Location
Worksite is the Audrey Beck Municipal Building, 4 South Eagleville Road, Storr, CT.
Work schedule totals 35 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with evening work on the second and fourth Mondays of each month (remote work can be accommodated). Occasional infrequent weekend work may be required.
Compensation
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a pay range of $34.81-$45.19/hour.
The hiring rate will depend upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
Mansfield offers a competitive benefits package. The Town participates in the Connecticut Municipal Retirement System (CMERS), a defined pension plan, plus medical, vision, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, tuition assistance, and paid vacation and holidays.
Minimum Training and Experience
Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, communications, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is desirable. Progressively responsible municipal or other public or non-profit sector office management experience is highly desirable. Equivalent experience and training will be considered.
Candidates must have the ability to work with and maintain confidential information as statutory "confidential employees".
Possession of a driver's license is required.
