Job description

Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000/ year based on experience + Quarterly Bonus Potential

Ready to elevate your career with a company that values work-life balance, competitive pay, and a positive work environment?

Join Clyde's Restaurant Group as an Executive Chef — a culinary leadership opportunity within one of the DC Metro area's most respected and enduring restaurant groups, known for upscale American cuisine, high-volume operations, and a culture that invests in its people.

We need a culinary leader who can do more than run a great line — someone who understands the business behind the kitchen. Our ideal Executive Chef brings proven high-volume experience ($8M+ in annual revenue), a strong command of kitchen systems and technology, and the financial fluency to own their P&L with confidence.

WHY JOIN THE CLYDE'S TEAM AS AN EXECUTIVE CHEF

  • Reputable Company: Strong stability and performance.
  • Positive Culture: Courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Retirement Plans: 100% company-funded pension (vesting after 1 year) and immediate 401k participation.
  • Bonuses: Quarterly eligibility.
  • Flexible Schedule: 5-day work week.
  • Career Growth: Rapid advancement opportunities.
  • Comprehensive Health Plan: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, telemedicine, wellness coach, and reduced rates on wellness services.
  • Insurance: Hospital indemnity, critical illness, accident coverage.
  • Generous Paid Time Off: Includes sick pay, medical/family leave (up to 8 weeks), special leaves (jury duty, voting, school activities for DC).
  • Therapy Resources: Access to free behavioral and digital cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Dining Discounts: Complimentary off-duty dining and shift meals.
  • Convenient Parking: Available parking benefits.
  • Employee Assistance: Legal, emotional, financial, and work/life balance support.
  • Financial Assistance: Assistance fund for employees in need.
  • Training & Education: Best-in-class training program and tuition reimbursement.
  • Flu Shots & Discounts: Annual flu shots and access to thousands of exclusive brand discounts.
  • Charity Matching: Up to $4,000 yearly.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN AN EXECUTIVE CHEF

  • We're looking for a seasoned culinary leader who combines a genuine passion for food with the business acumen to run a complex, high-volume kitchen.
  • Proven Executive Chef experience in a high-volume ($8M+), upscale dining environment
  • Strong financial fluency — food and labor cost management, P&L ownership, and inventory control
  • Systems-driven with experience in food costing and inventory platforms (MarginEdge, CTUIT, or similar); proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Deep command of American cuisine with the creativity to build menus that excite guests and drive revenue
  • A natural coach who sets high standards and develops people to meet them
  • Calm under pressure, decisive in the moment, and solutions-oriented when it counts
  • Excellent communicator — clear with your team, collaborative with FOH leadership

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS AN EXECUTIVE CHEF

  • Own the kitchen — culinary quality, food and labor costs, staffing, scheduling, and daily operations
  • Drive food and labor cost goals through disciplined ordering, inventory management, and waste control
  • Build, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen team through hands-on coaching and clear accountability
  • Lead menu development and conduct regular menu classes to ensure consistent execution across all meal periods
  • Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, portioning, temperature, and presentation
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations through regular facility inspections and proactive maintenance scheduling
  • Manage timekeeping, write performance appraisals, and hold team members to operational goals
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to align kitchen operations with the overall guest experience and business objectives
