Vice President of Sales and Marketing
APEL Extrusions – Phoenix, Arizona
APEL Extrusions is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead our organization through its next phase of growth.
This is an opportunity for an accomplished aluminum extrusion sales leader to have a significant impact on an established business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape our commercial strategy, build and develop their own sales team, strengthen key customer relationships, and pursue new customers and markets.
APEL has facilities in Phoenix, Arizona; Coburg, Oregon; and Calgary, Alberta. The company has six extrusion presses and extensive finishing and fabrication capabilities serving customers throughout the Western United States and Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will influence APEL’s commercial strategy and revenue growth. This person will work closely with senior leadership while remaining actively involved with customers and the market.
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on revenue growth, new customer acquisition and increased business with existing customers
  • Identify and pursue new customers, markets, applications and geographic opportunities
  • Build and lead our Sales team, including recruiting and developing team members to support the company’s growth plans
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and decision-makers and remain personally involved in major opportunities and negotiations
  • Establish clear sales targets, pipeline management, forecasting, metrics and accountability throughout the Sales team
  • Use knowledge of the aluminum extrusion market to identify customer needs, competitive activity and areas where APEL can differentiate itself
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Finance to ensure sales opportunities align with manufacturing capabilities, capacity and profitability
  • Develop marketing activities that support business development, customer acquisition and APEL’s position in the marketplace
Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate must have significant sales and customer-facing experience within the aluminum extrusion industry. This experience is a key requirement for the position.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • 10+ years of progressive sales and business development experience, including significant experience in the aluminum extrusion industry
  • A strong understanding of aluminum extrusion customers, markets, applications, pricing and competitive dynamics
  • A proven record of winning new business and delivering measurable revenue growth
  • Strong customer-facing experience and the ability to develop relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Experience working with OEMs, fabricators, distributors and other aluminum extrusion customers
  • Experience identifying new markets and converting opportunities into profitable business
  • Experience hiring, developing and leading sales professionals
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding, including pricing, margins, costing, capacity utilization and customer profitability
