This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled surgeon to join a nationally recognized program within a dynamic and integrated health system.
About the Program:
Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital is a 250-bed facility dedicated to transplantation services. It is part of the Methodist Healthcare System, a comprehensive hospital network serving South Texas. The transplant institute has a 40-year legacy of surgical excellence and outstanding clinical outcomes and recognized as the most respected and preferred healthcare provider in South Texas.
Transplant Program Highlights:
  • Over 350 kidney transplants performed annually, among the highest volumes in the nation
  • The liver transplant program, established in 2001, has completed over 1,000 liver transplants and averages 65 transplants per year

Candidate Qualifications:
  • Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, completion of an ASTS-accredited abdominal transplant fellowship
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license
  • Experienced physicians preferred and new graduates will be considered
  • The ability to independently perform deceased donor liver and kidney transplantation is required
  • Proficient in liver transplantation and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy's
  • Desire to work in a consensus model of very experienced group of hepatologists, nephrologists, and transplant surgeons with low resident participation
