As a vital part of our community transportation network, Bus Drivers provide reliable and courteous service to passengers throughout Bloomington. Responsibilities
- Safely operate transit buses along designated routes and schedules
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
- Work varying days and hours, including weekends, as required by the schedule
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (paid training provided)
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, BMV license check, and criminal background check
- Good driving record
- Fluency in English
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- No previous bus driving experience required
Compensation
Starting training wage: $20.59 per hour, with progressive increases up to $30.28 per hour.
