Job Summary

The Assembler/Machine Operator will perform various tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. The Assembler/Machine Operator works under limited supervision, responsible to perform a variety of duties efficiently with high quality results. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands. You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision.

Responsibilities

  • Static and dynamic balance of rotating assemblies.
  • Arrange/handle parts using a forklift or overhead crane.
  • Assemble machines per customer specifications/blueprints using standard and special tools.
  • Follow torque specifications.
  • Take and note various measurements.
  • Be willing to ask questions to better understand the process.
  • Detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform general housekeeping of work area.
  • Operate grinding machines to produce parts within ±0.0002" tolerance on diameters
  • Operate cranes and walk-behind lifts safely as part of daily duties
  • Understand, edit, and offset CNC programs by reading program code and observing machine behavior

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of machining experience; CNC experience preferred, manual machining experience may be accepted
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances, specifically ±0.0002" (two tenths) on grinding diameters
  • Blueprint reading experience required
  • Ability to understand and edit CNC programs and make offsets
  • Proficiency with basic machine shop gauging tools (OD micrometers, snap gauges, height gauges, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs throughout the shift
  • Ability to operate cranes and walk-behind lifts as needed
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
