PURPOSE

Ascend strives to be the employer of choice for our Team Members and a provider of choice for our Customers. The Distribution Center Forklift Operator is accountable to perform Forklift operations at the designated terminal, including, but not limited to loading, unloading, fueling and daily preventive maintenance. This position will support Drivers and Customers by safely loading, unloading, and positioning cargo and containers as needed.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Using the appropriate equipment, load, and unload containers from flatbed truck trailers.
  • Move containers and reposition containers on the yard or lot as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with Drivers to maximize customer service and productivity.
  • Communicate with Management to effectively schedule activities to support the operation.
  • Interact with customers as necessary to coordinate containers and truck movements.
  • Perform daily fueling, pre-trip/post trip, preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Demonstrates personal concern for maintaining a safe environment for themselves and others.
  • Actively promotes the proper use of equipment and adherence to processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in forklift operation.
