We are currently hiring a Lead Excavation Technician to join our team. As an Excavation Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing excavation operations on projects according to project specifications and deadlines. You will serve as the on-site point of contact for excavation-related tasks and coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors as needed.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead and supervise excavation crew to ensure efficient and safe operations
  • Operate and maintain excavation equipment (e.g., backhoes, excavators, trenchers)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility maps
  • Perform site prep, trenching, grading, and backfilling according to project plans
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies
  • Conduct pre-dig site assessments and utility locates
  • Communicate daily progress, challenges, and needs with supervisors and project managers
  • Train new crew members on safe equipment operation and excavation procedures
  • Monitor and enforce job site cleanliness and environmental compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment logs

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in excavation or heavy equipment operations
  • 3+ years experience in a supervisory or lead technician role preferred
  • Heavy equipment operator certification preferred
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
  • CDL preferred
  • Knowledge of excavation safety, soil types, and shoring techniques
  • Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment capabilities, and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must meet company motor vehicle record (MVR) eligibility requirements.
