ProTeX is seeking a qualified and motivated Geotechnical Engineer (EIT).
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED- If you have experience in the following areas that will be a plus but applications will still be accepted for anyone with degree in Civil Engineering and working towards their EIT. It's preferred that you have already taken the FE but if you haven't we can help you achieve that.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Perform field sampling and testing utilizing a drill rig, seismic refraction, double-ring infiltrometer, etc.
  • Performs a variety of skilled professional engineering work in the office and/or field.
  • Applies broad/basic knowledge of principles of civil and geotechnical engineering to observe construction work, observe and document existing conditions, scope work, prepare proposals, perform site studies, identify soil and bedrock, establish laboratory testing programs, evaluate and characterize site conditions, perform engineering analysis and prepare reports. Requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures, including professional judgment to execute work, develop solutions, and make design modifications.
  • Performing geotechnical studies, analysis, and design.
  • Preparing/reviewing a variety of geotechnical reports, studies, and evaluations.
  • Reviewing construction observation and testing data and preparing reports.
  • Analysis and design of mechanically stabilized earth retaining structures.
  • Slope stability analysis.
  • Analysis and design of ground anchors and soil nails.
  • General knowledge of concrete, asphalt, and aggregate materials testing
  • An understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methods.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material.
  • Basic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, GeoStudio, and gINT.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-4 years' related experience
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well in a Team Environment
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record and Background Check

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
