About the Role:

The Armed Church Security Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of church premises, congregants, staff, and visitors. This position involves proactively monitoring the environment to prevent and respond to potential threats or emergencies, maintaining a visible security presence to deter unlawful activities. The officer will collaborate closely with church leadership and local law enforcement to develop and implement security protocols tailored to the unique needs of a faith-based community. Additionally, the role requires maintaining confidentiality, exercising sound judgment, and demonstrating respect for the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of all individuals on site. Ultimately, the officer’s efforts contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and peaceful environment where worship and community activities can flourish without disruption.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid state-issued firearms permit and certification to carry and operate a firearm legally in the United States.
  • Completion of a recognized armed security officer training program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and conflict de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have Ex-military and/or Ex-police Preferred.
  • Must have D & G valid license.
  • Experience working in faith-based or community-oriented security roles.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and emergency medical response.
  • Familiarity with local law enforcement agencies and community resources.
  • Training in cultural sensitivity and diversity awareness.
  • Additional advanced firearms or tactical training.
  • Available Schedule: Wednesday-Thursday 530pm-930pm Friday 7am-6pm Sunday 7am-3pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of church grounds and facilities to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and parking areas to control access and ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activities, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports and communicate security concerns to church leadership.
  • Implement and enforce church security policies and procedures while respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals.
  • Provide a reassuring presence during services and events, assisting with crowd control and emergency evacuations if necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices in armed security and emergency response.
