Position Details: This position works 196 days per year. It is scheduled 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. During the school year, the position follows the approved calendar for holidays and work days. The position comes with treasurer responsibilities with a $1,751 annual stipend.

New employees will begin on year 1.

Benefits: Insurance: EVSC offers four (4) Anthem medical insurance plans. Full medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 30-day probationary period. Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSC Health & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member. Additional Benefits: EVSC is proud to provide accumulated paid time off for: Sick Time Personal Business Days Snow Days 24 Paid Holidays! EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate. This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan. Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.

Summary: Serves as confidential secretary to the principal and as facilitator for the school public being served.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. Serves as confidential secretary to the principal. Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, and routes calls. Maintains school records and files. Greets visitors and provides direction and assistance as needed. Types, prepares, and creates reports, distributes mail and other information, files, maintains records, prepares correspondence, mailings, and other clerical work as related to needs and building functions. Process attendance, payroll records and submit payroll for the building staff. Maintain student attendance in computer. Requisitions school supplies and prepares work orders while managing a school budget and office supplies and equipment. Schedules use of the building. Operates standard office equipment, e.g., computer (word processing and data entry), typewriter, telephone, calculator, fax, and copy machines. Adheres to policy/legal regulations regarding release of students to custodial parent, guardian, or other authorized person. Takes advantage of in-service training to improve and upgrade skills. Takes and transcribes notes for correspondence and/or record keeping. Presents a pleasant, helpful attitude toward staff, students, parents, and visitors and responds to inquiries. Enrolls new students, withdraws students, and updates student information. Admits late students and maintains records. Oversees student "sign out" process and maintains records. Directs substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to appropriate classroom and provides necessary information. May assist in securing substitute employees. Collaborates with EVSC Bus Transportation to schedule buses for field trips. Assists in providing after school program information. Maintains regular attendance.

Job Specific Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate personal computers and related software as well as Google suite. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to work independently, to function effectively in a multi-task environment, and to interact positively with the public. Ability to perform duties with awareness of and in compliance with related corporation policies and state requirements.
