Position Title: Career Services Student Assistant
Department: Career Services & Schreiner Experience
Reports To: Coord. Of Meaningful Work & Director of Career Services
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Career Services & Schreiner Experience Student Assistant supports the daily operations of Career Services while gaining hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, project management, data tracking, customer service, and professional communication. This position provides meaningful experiential learning by allowing the student to contribute to career readiness initiatives, campus programming, employer engagement, and student outreach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Create marketing materials including Canva graphics, flyers, digital signage, presentations, and promotional messaging.
  • Assist with social media planning, content creation, scheduling, and campaign tracking.
  • Support planning, setup, registration, and execution of career fairs, employer events, workshops, and Schreiner Experience programs.
  • Coordinates programming logistics with academic departments, faculty, and campus partners.
  • Maintain event calendars, and planning checklists.
  • Track attendance, appointments, workshop participation, and program outcomes using spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Post student employment, internship, volunteer, and career opportunities in Schreiner One and other approved platforms.
  • Assist with employer outreach packets, welcome materials, and event communications.
  • Help prepare workshop materials, career resources, and office displays.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and organization of office records.
  • Photograph events and organize digital media libraries.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Current Schreiner University student in good academic standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn Canva, Microsoft Office, Excel, Forms, and university software.
  • Interest in marketing, communications, event planning, business, education, or related fields.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Professional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
