Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Operations and Management
  • Oversee the daily operation of all athletics facilities, including competition venues, practice facilities, offices, locker rooms (at Lakefront Arena, Maestri Field, Privateer Tennis Center, Privateer Beach Volleyball Venue and Human Performance Center), concessions (at Maestri Field, Privateer Tennis Center, Privateer Beach Volleyball Venue and Human Performance Center), and support spaces.
  • In collaboration with the Lakefront Arena staff, develop and manage facility schedules for practices, competitions, camps, special events, and external rentals.
  • Establish and implement operational procedures and facility use policies.

Event Operations
  • Manage facility preparation for home athletic contests and departmental Special Events.
  • For Special Events (Golf Tournament, Hall of Fame, Team Banquets, Student Athlete Academic Awards Event, etc) coordinate venue setup and breakdown, including equipment, seating, signage, and event infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with game operations, marketing, ticketing, and external vendors.
  • Serve as facility manager for assigned athletic events.
  • Assist with Southland Conference Championships, NCAA postseason events, and LSU New Orleans Athletics Special Events.

Maintenance and Capital Projects
  • Develop and execute overall maintenance programs for athletic facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify facility repair and maintenance needs.
  • Oversee and /or execute minor repairs of equipment and key areas including: light plumbing, electrical, minor painting, mechanical, and carpentry. Repair fences, gates, chains, and athletic equipment
  • Coordinate with campus facilities departments and contractors on repairs and improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of athletic facility operations, concessions, and event management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, risk management practices, and facility compliance standards.

Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
  • Coordinate with campus police, emergency management, and environmental health and safety personnel for game day and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Southland Conference, LSU New Orleans, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct facility safety inspections, risk assessments, and develop emergency action plans.
  • Ensure all facilities comply with ADA requirements and accessibility standards.

Personnel Management
  • Supervise operations staff, student workers, and interns.
  • Develop staffing plans for athletic events and special programs.
  • Promote a culture of outstanding customer service, safety, and operational excellence.

External Relations and Facility Rentals
  • Manage facility rental programs, concessions, and external event requests.
  • Serve as liaison between athletics and external groups utilizing facilities.
  • Ensure all rental events comply with departmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Two to five years of responsible experience in facility operations, event management, athletics administration, or related areas.
  • Experience managing large-scale facilities, events, or operations.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance, scheduling systems, and event operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Sports Administration, Business Administration, Facility Management, or related field.
  • Experience in NCAA Division I Athletics or professional sports.
  • Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or related professional certification.
  • Experience overseeing construction and capital improvement projects.
  • Experience managing operational budgets and personnel.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond quickly to facility emergencies.
