Marketing & Events Manager

La Vaquita Flea Market

Pendergrass, GA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Marketing & Events ManagerLa Vaquita Flea Market  |  Pendergrass, GA  |  Full-time  |  $85,000 to $100,000 base
About La Vaquita
La Vaquita Flea Market is one of the Southeast's largest Hispanic marketplaces: an indoor and outdoor weekend market in Pendergrass, Georgia drawing tens of thousands of shoppers every operating weekend, with hundreds of vendor businesses, a full food court, live entertainment, and signature cultural events. We're building the next chapter: a bigger event calendar, a sharper brand, and a marketing operation that runs on systems instead of heroics.
The role
You'll build and run our marketing and events operating system, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a builder's seat: you design the calendar, direct the contractors, own the measurement, build the sponsorship product, and ship events that tens of thousands of people show up for. You'll work in Spanish and English every day; professional fluency in both is required, and most of what you produce will be Spanish-first.
What you'll own
  • Marketing system and audience growth. The marketing plan, campaign and content calendar, publishing, channel strategy, audience-growth initiatives, measurement and reporting, our Google Business Profile and review response, and delivery of the website relaunch.
  • Signature events and community partnerships. Design and deliver the 2027 signature event calendar (we set the target count together in your first 60 days). You own event strategy, program design, budgets within approved envelopes, community partnerships, promotion, each event's commercial inventory, and results. Our Operations team owns physical market-day execution and logistics against your agreed plan.
  • Sponsorship inventory and commercial readiness. Map, package, and maintain the market's sponsorable assets: digital screens, physical positions, media relationships, and event assets. Manage inbound and event-attached opportunities, close standard opportunities at company-published rates, and own fulfillment and relationship administration with our media partners. Leadership sets all pricing; you build the product and keep it honest. This is not a cold-prospecting sales role.
  • Contractor direction. Brief, scope, budget, schedule, and quality-control our content, design, and paid-media contractors. They execute; you're accountable for the output.
  • Brand, reputation, and the scorecard. Brand standards, our public rating trajectory, community presence, and a weekly scorecard you own and report on. We expect you to know what's working, what isn't, and what you're changing because of it.
Your first 90 days
By day 30, publishing and contractor direction run through you. By day 60, the content calendar is live and measured, and the 2027 event calendar is drafted with budgets. By day 90, the sponsorship inventory map is delivered for pricing.
Where and when you work
Georgia-based and commutable to Pendergrass. Weekdays are hybrid. Steady state, you're on-site two to three market days per month (single days, not full weekends), so most of your week stays free for building and project management. During your first 90 days, you're on-site at least one market day each operating weekend to learn the property, meet vendors, and stand up the content-capture system. You're at every signature event and its setup day; presence at signature events is an essential function of the role.
What you'll bring
  • Four or more years running marketing programs, events, or both.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English: read, write, speak.
  • A marketing or content operation you personally ran at a real publishing cadence, with the metrics to show it.
  • Two or more events or activations you shipped, with budget, timeline, and results.
  • Contractors or agencies you directed, with budget ownership and at least one performance problem you solved.
  • Commercial judgment: you understand why an advertiser buys, and you've built, presented, negotiated, or closed something with real dollars attached.
  • Strong project-management discipline across several simultaneous workstreams.
  • Comfort being measured weekly.
Compensation
  • Base salary: $85,000 to $100,000, depending on experience.
  • Target performance bonus: 10% of base, tied to quarterly goals.
  • Plus company benefits.
How we hire
A screen with our recruiter, then a working session where you walk us through the things you actually built:
  • A marketing operating system or content program you ran, with metrics.
  • Two or more delivered events or activations.
  • Contractor or agency work you directed, with budget responsibility.
  • One commercial example with a dollar figure and your exact role.
Then assessments, references, and offer.
La Vaquita Flea Market (Pendergrass Flea Market, Inc.) is an equal opportunity employer.
