Schedule & Availability

This position supports live entertainment venues, sporting events, festivals, conventions, and special events. Flexibility is required, including availability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak event periods based on event schedules and operational needs.

The Spirit of the Position

As an Events Supervisor, you are responsible for leading frontline event operations teams and ensuring guests receive a safe, welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience from arrival through departure.

This position oversees event service functions, including ticket scanners, ushers, guest ambassadors, and other event staff. You will provide operational leadership, employee coaching, guest service support, and event-day oversight while ensuring compliance with company standards, venue expectations, and client requirements.

What You'll Do

Operational Leadership

  • Supervise event operations before, during, and after events.
  • Oversee guest entry, ushering, ticket scanning, wayfinding, and guest service functions.
  • Ensure facilities and event spaces are properly staffed and operationally prepared.
  • Monitor guest arrival and departure patterns to maximize efficiency and service levels.
  • Conduct facility and venue inspections.
  • Communicate event-specific procedures, operational updates, and expectations to staff.
  • Respond quickly to operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Support premium events, VIP experiences, and special event initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, train, and support frontline event staff.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings and shift briefings.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Promote employee engagement and development opportunities.

Guest Experience

  • Deliver and model exceptional customer service.
  • Assist guests with questions, directions, accommodations, and event information.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure guests experience a welcoming and positive environment.
  • Support accessibility accommodations and ADA-related guest needs.
  • Promote exceptional service standards across all event operations.

Safety & Venue Management

  • Monitor pedestrian flow throughout events.
  • Support crowd management and guest safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate with venue management, security personnel, law enforcement, and event leadership as needed.
  • Respond to incidents, accidents, and operational disruptions.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Support emergency response and evacuation procedures.

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete operational reports, incident documentation, and event summaries.
  • Assist with staffing assignments, scheduling coordination, and shift coverage.
  • Monitor attendance and workforce deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, venue requirements, and client expectations.
  • Maintain professional communication with guests, employees, venue partners, and leadership teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous supervisory, leadership, or team lead experience.
  • Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Preferred

  • Experience supervising event staff, ushers, ticket scanners, guest service representatives, or similar positions.
  • Experience in event operations, hospitality, sports and entertainment venues, or convention centers.
  • Experience with crowd management, traffic control, venue operations, or guest services.
  • Knowledge of mobile ticketing, access control, or point-of-sale systems.
  • CPR, First Aid, or emergency response certifications.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Travel throughout venues and event spaces.
  • Climb stairs and navigate large venues.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, and move frequently throughout a shift.
  • Communicate clearly in busy, crowded, and sometimes noisy environments.
