Position Announcement

Along with these needed skills, if you love the college campus environment and the idea of behind-the-scenes work of helping students find jobs and become employable, we want you to apply.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Functions as the primary contact and coordinates planning, scheduling, and execution of Career & Internship Center events, i.e., Career & Internship Fairs, job fairs, student-centered networking events, employer partner events, and other campus recruiting. As lead contact, works with on-campus entities and department staff to schedule physical facilities, plan and implement logistics, and all other details associated with events. Follows direction and vision for events from Career & Internship Center leadership. Directly reports to the Employer Relations Manager, and coordinates with employer relations teammates in communicating with employers to monitor registration for recruiting events.
  • Responsible for inventory and management of materials, signs, carts, logistics, and storage of event-related items. Orders supplies and food. Coordinates and manages after-event clean-up processes. Coordinates staff coverage for events and creates and communicates detailed schedules. Coordinates with the team to determine transport of event items, including food pickup and delivery. Ensures set-up details with Event Services, Dining Services, and others on campus. Solves event problems as they arise in real time on event days.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to schedule timely marketing of events to students and staff. Sits on the CIC events and marketing committee, helping to coordinate the advertising and implementation of marketing campaigns for events and promotions offered through the Career & Internship Center.
  • Maintains relationships with contacts for space scheduling and meets important dates and deadlines for calendaring events for the center. Maintains event reports and records pertinent to assessing event budget, feedback, improvements, and the effectiveness of events. Leads team meeting agenda items for event details leading up to events, and post-event follow-up discussions. Holds responsibilities with event purchases, maintaining the annual events budget, and tracking event costs.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree, plus one year of event planning experience; OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Hospitality Management, Event Coordination, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
