AVAILABLE POSITION GIRLS HOCKEY ASSISTANT COACH

Job Summary The assistant girls hockey coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of running the program. The assistant coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the assigned activity, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment and events, physical fitness and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level. Job responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Encouraging student participation, establishing team rapport and motivating participants to achieve maximum potential.
  • Be an example of sportsmanship.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of all equipment including uniforms.
  • Supervise all areas of participation including but not limited to gyms, fields, locker rooms, buses, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, Activities Director, families, and community resources.
  • Maintain compliance with all rules and regulations of the MSHSL.
  • Comply with and support all school district regulations and policies in addition to completion of mandatory training including but not limited to blood borne pathogens, mandatory reporting, and first aid.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in and understanding of hockey.
  • Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
  • Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
  • Positive, high energy, and commitment.
  • View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach their goals.

Start Date As agreed upon; 2026-27 Soccer Season

Compensation Package Position Classification C13 offers a starting salary of $3,582.80 - $4,065.10, based on experience. No benefits package is offered with this position.
