We are excited to invite applications for the position of Part-Time Assistant Coordinator, NICHE Events. This role plays a key part in supporting our events team to deliver exceptional experiences for our students and the community.
  • Location: NICHE (National Institute for Culinary and Hospitality Education) WSU Tech - Wichita, KS
  • Pay Rate: $18.20/hour
  • Schedule: Part-time, hours will vary based on event needs (evenings and weekends may be required)

Overview / Job Summary:
The Part-Time Assistant Coordinator, NICHE Events supports the administrative, sales, coordination, and execution aspects of events at NICHE. This role works closely with the Hospitality Operations Manager to assist with client communication, lead generation, event logistics, venue sales, and day-of event execution. While the primary focus is administrative and sales support, this position also actively assists with event operations including setup, teardown, room resets, and physical event preparation. This role will independently oversee events as the sole on-site NICHE representative, managing vendors, timelines, client communication, troubleshooting, and overall execution. The right candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable operating with autonomy.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
    • Conduct outbound sales calls, lead generation, and follow-up communication with prospective clients and event leads
    • Respond to event inquiries, coordinate venue tours, and support clients through the booking and planning process
    • Support venue sales efforts through professional communication, relationship-building, and client service
    • Assist with preparing proposals, BEOs, contracts, invoices, timelines, and event documentation
    • Maintain organized client records and ensure accuracy across planning systems and event management software
    • Coordinate calendars, meetings, and logistics with internal teams, vendors, and clients
    • Provide day-of event support including setup, teardown, room resets, décor placement, and execution of event details
    • Lead events independently as the sole on-site NICHE representative, managing vendors, timelines, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring successful execution

Requirements
Education:
  • High school diploma required
  • Associated Degree preferred

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in administrative support, hospitality, customer service, sales, event coordination, or client relations required

  • Comfortable initiating outbound calls and communicating with prospective clients
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, event management software, and CRM or administrative systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as events require
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and assist with physical event setup and teardown
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on-site
