Seasonal Events Assistant Scope & Purpose The Seasonal Events Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation, execution, and cleanup of events at Community First! Village, including our biggest event of the year, Village of Lights. This position supports various event-related tasks and on-site needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees, volunteers, and staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a team player, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt position running from September through January and reporting to the Events & Hospitality Manager. Due to the nature and requirements of the position, hours are flexible to fit need, but typically include 9 am – 5 pm Monday-Friday. Some nights and weekends will be required. The candidate must be available to work on the following days: September 18-19, December 3-5, and December 11-12. The Seasonal Events Assistant will office at Community First! Village located at 9116 Hog Eye Road, Austin, TX 78724. Duties & ResponsibilitiesTemporarily join the MLF team from September through JanuaryRegular day-of assistance with onsite events, including setting up and tearing down food, tables, chairs, trash, etc. Promotional work for Community Cinema Events – Mailchimp, Eventbrite, social media, Canva design, event calendars, etc. Research venues and vendors for upcoming events Lead volunteer groups in various event specific tasks Assist with various Village of Lights and other large event-related tasks. Create and manage QR codes for event use Conduct an inventory of event décor and supplies and organize them on a regular basis (e.g., traffic vests, light wands, fire pit supplies, etc.)Assemble supplies for both volunteers and staffHelp create and put up signage around the event site Organize and steward shared event spaces Charge and prepare essential event tech equipment (walkie-talkies, iPads, etc.). Learn Asana (task management software) and assist in managing various event boards Perform administrative tasks as needed to support event coordination.
