VENUE/PROPERTY INFO
Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is consistently ranked as the #1 entertainment venue in the state. Our venue boasts a full calendar of events including concerts, comedy shows, family shows, sporting events, banquets, conventions, trade shows, meetings, and more. With the attached Convention Center and Arena, we are the largest venue between Omaha and Fargo, and from Minneapolis to Denver.
THE ROLE
The full-time Setup/Teardown Crew position is responsible for several physical tasks to change over the facility from event to event. Evening, night, and weekend availability are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, align, and strike portable chairs, tables, pipe & drape, staging, and bleachers.
  • Lead part time and temporary team members in setup and teardown for events.
  • Help maintain the outside grounds including lawn care and snow removal as needed.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the building as needed.
  • Use various mechanical equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet cleaners, etc. as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • 1-2 years of custodial, operations, or events experience preferred.
  • Experience leading small work crew and reading room diagrams preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, hear, and speak English.
  • Valid driver's license required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to pass an acceptable background check and obtain forklift certification.
  • Constant standing, walking, and stooping. Constant reaching and handling products.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Daily lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • May require irregular hours including nights, weekend and/or holidays as determined by event schedule.
  • May be subject to adverse weather conditions.
  • Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
