Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following.
* Hires, trains, and supervises the event services staff.
* Ensures successful event coordination activities by supervising and training Event Coordinators. Plans, organizes, and assigns all day-to-day work assignments for event coordinators.

*Researches, reviews, and recommends equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning.
* Coordinates outside service needs with food and beverage contractor, decorator, and other vendors.
*Prepares Event Services departmental and estimated revenues.

*Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff.

* Works extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
* Prepares schedules and assigns events to the Event Coordinators.
* Meets with potential clients, advises them on the facility requirements, and negotiates sales of additional services.
* Works with internal service partners to provide quality service to customers.
* Serves as liaison for all facility clients to ensure highest level of customer service for all external service providers.
* Manages meetings, tradeshows, conventions, and conferences contracted at the facility.
* Prepares reports of monthly event activities.
* Develops policies and procedures for the Event Services Department and monitors their compliance.
* Establishes new standards of customer service by working with departments in the facility.
* Serves as manager on duty as required.
* All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Event Managers and/or Event Coordinators in the Event Services Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited College or University, degree in Venue & Sports Management preferred.
* 1-5 years Event Management experience in an Arena or related venue.
* Supervisory experience desired.
* Knowledge in facility capabilities and event related services, including technical requirements (staging, rigging, IATSE, NFPA Code) of major concerts, family shows and sporting events.
* Excellent verbal, written, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required.
* High aptitude for figures.
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
* Must have professional attitude and appearance.
Computer Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required

* CAD experience preferred.
