Job description

The Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center are hiring for an Event Services Intern to assist the Event Services Department with the overall event coordination of Concerts, Family Shows, Miami HEAT Games, and small-scale events such as meetings, trainings, Court of Dreams, rehearsals, etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.
Event Operations & Coordination
  • Assist Senior Event Manager, Event Managers, and Event Coordinators with reviewing event booking forms and prepping Event Worksheets as assigned by the Sr. Director of Event Services.
  • Assist department in prepping event estimates and final event invoices for small-scale events, such as Court of Dreams, Kaseya Center Tours and camps, as assigned.
  • Support Event Managers with coordinating VIP Parties, Event Sponsorship Activations, Radio Station placement, and concourse set-up.
  • Facilitate dressing room coordination between the building and show, as assigned.
  • Create and place event-specific signage for all events and perform other show-specific duties as needed.
  • Conduct building walk-throughs for all events, including physical inspections of various areas of the facility to ensure proper set-up and guest safety.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of concerts, family shows, Miami HEAT games, meetings, trainings, rehearsals, and other special events as assigned.

Department Operations & Administration
  • Collect, organize, and validate event data to ensure accurate departmental reporting.
  • Analyze historical event data to identify trends and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support the creation of standardized templates, checklists, and reporting tools to streamline departmental operations.
  • Maintain and communicate the monthly conversion calendar to track setup and strike schedules for all major arena events.
  • Oversee department equipment and operations inventory by conducting audits, tracking usage, and providing updated inventory reports.
  • Complete daily administrative duties and special projects assigned.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

  • Must be available for the duration of the internship from September 2026 - March 2027.
  • This internship requires irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a college or university Event Management or Sports Management program.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Education and/or Experience
Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a college or university Event Management or Sports Management program; Very organized and detail-oriented. Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once. Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Previous experience working in a sports and/or live event venue preferred.
