The Marketing Project Manager is a valued member of the Communications, Marketing and Engagement team for UT's Operational Services and Strategies (OSS) portfolio led by the VP of Operations. It reports to the Executive Director of Branding and Marketing and supports marketing planning and execution across the OSS portfolio which includes Campus Operations and Planning, Campus Services, Central HR, Discovery to Impact, Real Estate Planning and Strategy, Texas Institute for Electronics, and University Housing and Dining.

Purpose
The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for project timelines and marketing strategy for initiatives across the Communications, Marketing and Engagement team for UT's Operational Services and Strategies (OSS) portfolio led by the VP of Operations. This role supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of projects and events across multiple initiatives and manages timelines, logistics, and deliverables while working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, and is able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy: Translate creative briefs and business objectives into high-impact creative concepts and marketing plans that resonate with audiences and help drive the brand forward.
  • Project Management: Manage and track multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, milestones, and deliverables are met. Maintain workflows, monitor project status, and ensure projects stay on track using our project management tool, Asana, to support team visibility and accountability.
  • Brand Stewardship: Protect and champion the University's brand identity, ensuring that all materials follow established standards.
  • Client Partnership: Act as client partner to internal stakeholders, understanding each unit's priorities to best align marketing objectives with business goals.
  • Collaboration: Work with peers across Communications, Marketing and Engagement and functional units and departments to develop effective multi-channel strategies and materials to support marketing and communication goals.
  • Event Coordination: Manage all event logistics, including scheduling, venue setup, materials, vendor and volunteer coordination, and on-site support.
  • Reporting: Regularly track and report on multi-channel (e.g., social media, website, newsletters, events) project metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, and conversions) and analyze data to identify insights and optimize current and future initiatives.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records, standard operating procedures, and department planning and business continuity documentation to support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or related field.
  • 5-7 years of related marketing and project management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience managing projects and tracking work through project management tools (e.g., Asana).
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience planning events in a higher education or a large organizational setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience reporting on metrics and performance.
  • Experience working with content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with email marketing systems, such as Emma and Mailchimp, or similar platforms.

Salary Range
$85,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
This position requires a physical presence in a standard office environment at the UT main campus and is not eligible for a regular remote or hybrid work at this time.
