The Office of Eric Schmidt encompasses: 1) a personal administrative and research team (EST), 2) a political team (OneOne), 3) a technology team (Technical Projects Group), 4) an event management team for Eric's personal and professional events (Community), and 5) his personal communications team.
The Community Team designs and executes best-in-class convenings across Schmidt Entities. We are looking for an intern to join the Community Team from September 8 - December 21 (with the possibility to extend) who is eager to learn about the planning and execution of a wide range of convenings for various programs and initiatives across our organizations.
This is an in-person position, based in our Crystal City, VA office. Interns are expected to work primarily from their assigned office during regular business hours, collaborating closely with team members on-site to support events and internal operations.
This internship offers hands-on experience in the operations, strategy, logistics, and creative production of convenings, while also providing opportunities for professional development, relationship-building, and cross-office collaboration. Interns will work part-time, with occasional travel for cross-office experiences and event support. Each intern will own a defined project aligned with the Community Team's priorities and will present their work during an end-of-summer showcase.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the Community Team to plan and execute events and convenings for various programs and initiatives. This includes coordinating with program teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Project Coordination: Help coordinate logistical aspects of events, including booking venues, managing travel arrangements, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring smooth operations.
Event Execution: Assist with on-site event support, including set-up, logistics, and troubleshooting during the event. Coordinate with external vendors to ensure a seamless attendee experience.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Community Team, including scheduling, note-taking, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Post-Event Follow-Up: Participate in debrief and feedback sessions with the Community Team after events to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
