Job Description Summary
The Student Success & Academic Engagement Front Desk Student Assistant provides welcoming, high-quality customer service and administrative support for the division while serving as a key point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and community visitors. This role supports daily office operations, assists with programs and events, maintains informational displays and supplies, and helps ensure the CAVE computer and printing lab runs smoothly. The position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and strict confidentiality when handling student information.

Responsibilities
The Student Success and Academic Engagement front desk student assistant will be responsible for:
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to all departments within Student Success and Academic Engagement.
  • Welcome students, family members, faculty, staff, and community visitors while demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Always Represent Saint Leo University and the Division of Academic Affairs positively and professionally.
  • Assist with program and event setup, teardown, research, planning, marketing, and advertising efforts.
  • Manage, update, and maintain bulletin boards and other visual displays promoting events, programs, and workshops.
  • Monitor, inventory, and replenish office supplies for departmental staff.
  • Support the Associate Vice President of Student Success, Directors, and Success Coaches with a variety of projects and initiatives.
  • Assist students in the CAVE computer and printing lab by providing guidance, maintaining supplies, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain printing station supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Answer phones, provide accurate information, and maintain detailed and organized records.
  • Keep all areas within the CAVE neat, clean, and in compliance with established rules and expectations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, materials, and conversations in accordance with university policy.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by supervisors to support departmental operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Education or job experience in an office environment is a plus but not required.
  • Education or job experience in event planning, hospitality, journalism, communications, organizational development, marketing and/or public relations is a plus, but not required.
  • Eligible to become Saint Leo University Van and Golf Cart Certified.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and congenially in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to speak and write in a second language is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in an inclusive and professional environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate or advanced Canva proficiency is a plus.
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office Professional suite proficiency.
  • Novice or intermediate proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Detail-oriented and diligent to follow-up and complete tasks for assigned projects.
  • A positive, pleasant attitude with good problem-solving skills.
  • Professional attire may be required for special events.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrolled full-time at Saint Leo University in an Undergraduate Campus program.
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study
