Job description

Cruiseport Gloucester is a waterfront wedding and event venue on the North Shore, part of the Beauport Hospitality Group. We deliver well-planned events with excellent service. We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our team and oversee seamless event execution.

The Cruiseport Gloucester Events Manager is responsible for the entire event lifecycle, from the initial client inquiry to the final execution of the event. This role focuses on selling, planning, and managing weddings and other special events, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients and their guests. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional with a deep passion for hospitality and a proven track record in wedding and event sales and coordination.

Essential Functions

  •  Lead engaging and informative site tours for prospective clients, showcasing the beauty and unique features of our property in accordance with Beauport Hospitality Group (BHG) guidelines.
  • Manage the entire sales pipeline from inquiry to contract, maintaining organized files and ensuring prompt, professional follow-up.
  • Expertly present our food and beverage options, creating detailed, customized proposals and contracts for clients.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong, trusting relationships to understand their vision and exceed their expectations throughout the planning process.
  • Generate and service all aspects of wedding events, including event space design and food & beverage selections.
  • Produce comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and detailed floor plans to ensure flawless communication and execution by our operations team.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to manage event timelines and the complete production of the event.
  • Oversee event setup and execution to ensure every detail aligns with the client's vision and our high standards.

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in Catering, Hospitality, and Event Management.
  • Direct experience managing weddings from sale to execution is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Events, Sales, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-relevant Catering Sales Systems (Caterease experience is a plus) and room diagramming software.
  • Knowledge of sales and event operations in a high-end hospitality environment.
