 Weddings, galas, happy hours, concerts, mitzvahs, backyard gatherings, fundraisers – we do it all! Inspired by our passion for quality food and our love of helping guests create one-of-a-kind memories, CRAVE Catering is a full service catering company dedicated to making events unforgettable. 
We are looking for experienced, hospitable, enthusiastic, dependable, hard-working Event Managers (Banquet Captains) to join the team. 
The Event Manager’s focus is on the client and the staff they are leading. They are the main contact for the client on the day of the event, taking over for the Sales Manager who has done the planning. The Event Manager also  leads a team of servers and bartenders to execute beautiful events with high quality food and service. This may include plated dinners, food stations, buffets, passed appetizers, or a combination of these. 
This is an hourly part-time to full-time paid position with business that operates seven (7) days a week. Weekend and evening availability is a must. Most events are in Minneapolis, but we cater all over the metro area. Reliable transportation is required. Schedule is very flexible. 
Pay: $27-30/hour dependent on experience with potential for additional gratuity 
Duties 
  • Management of a team of servers and bartenders which includes creating assignments for each event, monitoring efficient work, reporting to Operations Manager any personnel issues, leading pre-shift meetings, and insuring efficient and professional service
  • Read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders, timelines, and floor plans to execute the event as planned
  • Communication with the culinary team to keep them updated on changes/updates/timelines
  • Uphold CRAVE Catering’s standard of service and provide an example of exemplary service for the rest of the team to follow
  • Fulfill client requests and resolve any customer complaints that may arise
  • Event set up & tear down of food stations and displays, table sets, etc.
  • Communication with guests and clients using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
  • Be attentive and aware! Offer your assistance to guests whenever you are at an event.
  • Work with the team of catering personnel to maintain event, a positive atmosphere, and efficient food & beverage service.
  • Other duties as directed.

Qualifications:
 
  • Event Management/Catering experience preferred, but will train the right candidate
  • Proven history of successful leadership and coordination of a team
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail 
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Understanding of food sensitivities, intolerances and allergies.
  • Weekend availability
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
