To thrive as an Event Designer, you need a strong background in design principles, spatial planning, and event logistics, often supported by a degree in design, hospitality, or a related field. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD programs, and event management platforms is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills set top professionals apart in this role. These skills ensure that events are visually impressive, seamlessly executed, and tailored to client needs, resulting in memorable and successful experiences.

How much does an event designer make?

The average salary for an event designer ranges from $40,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of events. What does an event designer do?

The job duties of an event designer involve overseeing the planning, design, and decoration for an event. Your responsibilities vary depending on the client or employer. As an event designer, you work within a venue to plan the decor and layout of the event space. You may direct workers as they set up and oversee breakdown after the event. You may work on corporate events, conferences, and trade shows, or you may manage decoration for weddings, parties, or private events. You can operate as a freelancer, work for an event planning company or venue, or plan events for a single corporation.

How does an event designer typically collaborate with clients and vendors throughout the event planning process?

Event Designers work closely with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and goals for an event. They often facilitate regular meetings or presentations to share design concepts, mood boards, and mock-ups, ensuring client feedback is incorporated at every stage. Job description

Gupta Media was founded over 25 years ago on the idea that advertising could create huge leverage in our clients' businesses. Our work initially focused on the entertainment industry, specifically live events and recorded music (SXSW, Sony Music, Universal Music, and Disney Music Group are all clients). We have grown to include global brands (Amazon, Sophia Learning), major sports franchises (X Games, Florida Panthers, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Cavaliers, Women's Tennis Association), as well as public sector institutions (City of Boston, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism).

Gupta Media is seeking a Designer who is excited to connect with audiences across multiple visual mediums -digital ad campaigns, OOH, web, events, motion/video, print, social, and other ways we haven't yet thought of. As a Designer within our creative studio team, you'll work alongside writers and designers to craft bold and compelling stories that strategically drive connection and engagement. While this role collaborates across all forms of design, motion is a daily requirement; you must have a solid foundation in animation and be ready to bring static concepts to life.
We love people who are driven and hard-working, who love the craft, are team players, can run with concepts, and take feedback well. You are thoughtful, can be nimble when you have to be, but know when to keep going back at it when it needs to be perfect.

What we are looking for:

  • A related 4-year degree and 2+ years of agency experience;
  • Strong visual design skills with the ability to seamlessly integrate motion and animation into your work. A portfolio featuring motion design examples that demonstrate an understanding of timing, pacing, and movement is required;
  • Ability to carry projects from concept to completion, working collaboratively across teams on ideation, creation, and implementation;
  • An expert in Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects. Bonus points for video editing skills via Premiere Pro;
  • A strong communicator, able to present your ideas to internal and external teams;
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, takes ownership yet seeks guidance and input to elevate their craft.

To apply, please submit a resume, portfolio of relevant work, and a quick note on why you are the perfect candidate for Gupta Media.

For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $58,000 - $70,000, depending on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and pet insurance; Flexible and Dependent Care Savings Accounts; a 401(k) with up to 5% Safe Harbor contributions; paid time off; paid family leave; commuting and wellness stipends; and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
