Job description


The HINATH:AFS-After School Events team member works within the Hinkley-Athletics department to ensure smooth operation of all after-school athletic events and activities. This role involves setting up and running concessions, managing gate access, coordinating game managers, maintaining official scorebooks and game clocks, and providing general logistical support to coaches, students, and spectators.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and break down concession stands during events.
  • Manage gate entry, ticketing, and crowd flow for all after-school activities.
  • Coordinate with game managers to ensure proper staffing and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate scorebooks and operate the game clock.
  • Assist coaches with equipment setup and event logistics.
  • Monitor safety and enforce school policies during events.
  • Track and replenish inventory of concessions and supplies.
  • Communicate event details to parents, staff, and participants.
  • Provide post-event clean-up and equipment storage.
  • Report any incidents or equipment issues to the athletics supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in sports event support, concessions, or hospitality.
  • Ability to lift 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency for cash handling and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with common sports rules and terminology.
