the girl & the fig CATERS! in Sonoma is currently seeking Event Captains to join our team.
We are a restaurant group with multiple locations in the Sonoma Valley, which includes the girl & the fig in Sonoma, Poppy in Glen Ellen, the girl & the fig CATERS!, Suite D, and our FIGfood product line. We strive to use the best in local, sustainable food, and we continually develop many in-house programs to promote those ideals. Our Event Captains provide guests with gracious, efficient, knowledgeable, and accurate service of food and beverage at special catered events while being a point of contact for other event service staff. We are looking for candidates who have a professional and friendly demeanor with excellent time management and customer service skills.
A Typical Day Includes...

  • Training and supervising support service staff
  • Overseeing the flow of the event, including set up and break down, and providing help where needed
  • Responding to guest requests and communicating with the Event Manager
  • Coordinating with kitchen to ensure each course is ready and served at the appropriate time
  • Driving company vehicles to and from event locations

This Job Requires...

  • Weekend availability (available shifts will primarily be on weekends only)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to provide or complete CA Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certifications
  • A valid California driver's license and clearance as an insured company driver based on a clean driving record
  • General catering knowledge and a minimum of one year of event experience
