Job Responsibilities
Provide front desk coverage, greet visitors, and assist students, veterans, and guests in a courteous and professional manner. Assist veteran participants with completing applications, forms, and basic paperwork. Provide general clerical assistance and be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Provide general information about VUB services, workshops, and events. Offer basic assistance with computer use (email, printing, navigating online resources). Help set up and break down for workshops, classes, and special events. Assist with participant outreach initiatives and veteran engagement (assembling promotional materials, preparing mailings, prepare folders, packets, and supplies for meetings and activities). Adhere to the college's dress code for front-line customer service.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and veteran records. Reliable, punctual, and able to manage assigned work hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor when working with diverse populations, including veterans. Ability to provide excellent customer service in a front office setting. Time management skills and ability to complete tasks independently. Basic computer literacy (email, internet navigation, printing, document formatting). Experience with or willingness to learn database systems and office equipment. Commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive office environment. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and other student workers. Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative. Openness to feedback and learning new skills.
