Job description

Evening Shift 2:00pm-10:30pm M-F

Responsible for inspection and testing of mixed rubber compositions for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties; MDR, Hardness and Dispersion for 100% of the batches produced. Uses resources to make decisions regarding how to perform the respective QC by referring to testing parameters, testing protocol and Specifications to determine the status of release of each batch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Completing routine quality control process as outlined in the testing parameters that define test procedures for each compound. This would include MDR, Hardness, Dispersion and Mooney Viscosity and in some instances may include Tensile / Tear, Density, Mooney Scorch, Electrical Testing. The testing parameters also define specific test conditions for all the relevant tests to be performed for each compound.

· Follows the Quality Control Procedures as written including sample weights and special tests required.

· Ensure Customer Samples are retained as indicated on QC Batch tags, including packaging the labeling these samples with Compound and Batch #’s. These requirements and sample sizes are documented under the testing protocol.

· Work with Quality Manager to resolve quality discrepancies on a routine basis.

· Enters QC Test Results into the Quality Database, including Mixing Equipment, Operator and Technician after completion of each batch.

· Timely communication of the Quality Results

· Safely operate the lab mill builder to verify dispersion Quality

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement initiatives. Follow NGC quality policy and procedures, helping to meet ISO 9001:2015 objectives.
