This role is pivotal in delivering essential social services and support to marginalized individuals and families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and advocacy in their life journeys. As an LCSW, you will play an integral part in shaping the well-being of vulnerable populations while working collaboratively with a dynamic team committed to social justice and community empowerment.

About the Organization

Soul Canvas Healing is a forward-thinking social service agency deeply embedded in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our mission revolves around providing holistic support that encompasses advocacy, case management, counseling, and crisis intervention. We pride ourselves on a person-centered approach that prioritizes the unique circumstances of each client and aims to address social issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and poverty. By partnering with local organizations and community resources, we strive to empower individuals and create meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while working regular business hours. However, candidates should be prepared to accommodate occasional evening or weekend hours based on the specific needs of our clients and program activities. The work setting is collaborative, with frequent virtual meetings and consultations with fellow social workers, community partners, and other professionals involved in client care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify and understand their social, emotional, and environmental challenges, ensuring a holistic understanding of their needs.
  • Develop personalized service plans that include clear goals, tailored interventions, and a system for ongoing progress monitoring to guide clients toward successful outcomes.
  • Provide individual and family counseling tailored to diverse life circumstances, using therapeutic techniques that align with clients' unique needs.
  • Engage clients collaboratively in order to connect them with community resources, building a robust support network around them.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention, conduct risk assessments, and create safety plans when necessary to ensure client safety and stability.
  • Work closely with other community agencies and organizations to integrate services and advocate effectively for clients' needs.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness of available agency services and fostering stronger community connections.
  • Attend and actively contribute to case conferences, team meetings, and professional training sessions to ensure continuous growth and improved service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with diverse populations facing significant social challenges. This includes individuals and families dealing with mental health issues, trauma, economic hardships, and systemic barriers to healthcare and housing. You will be tasked with not only addressing immediate concerns but also working to empower clients through education, resource allocation, and skill-building.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required, ensuring a strong foundational knowledge in social work principles.
  • Possession of an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.
  • We value candidates with demonstrated experience in a social service agency or similar settings, contributing to a deeper understanding of client needs.
  • A sound understanding of social and economic justice issues, along with a comprehensive knowledge of local community resources and trauma-informed care practices, is critical.
  • Strong communication skills, cultural competence, and effective problem-solving abilities are necessary to thrive in this role.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse client populations, specifically those facing mental health, substance abuse, or trauma-related challenges is highly desirable.
  • Prior work within multidisciplinary teams or collaborations that involve substantial community integration will improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a substantial sign-on bonus, enhancing the overall compensation package. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance that covers medical, dental, and vision needs, retirement savings plans with employer matching contributions, and generous paid time off including vacation, personal days, and holidays. Continuing education and training opportunities are available to foster ongoing professional development.
