What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.

  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for process control, process improvement, inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the shop floor, department, or production workforce.
  • Lead and facilitate PFMEA sessions to identify potential risks in manufacturing processes. Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies to ensure robust process controls.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and electronics industry standards.
  • Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA ): Investigate nonconformances, customer complaints, and internal quality issues. Applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys). Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to improve yield, reduce defects, and optimize processes.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Compile, wri te and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
  • Develop and maintain performance monitors for productivity and quality for area of responsibility.
  • Analyze processes and operations to determine problem areas and take corrective action.
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality reporting measures.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Interface with customer quality representatives.
  • Serve as Quality Engineer representative to the Materials Review Bo ard (MRB).
  • Quality Systems & Compliance: Support AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications for J-STD 001, IPC 610 & IPC 620.
Requirements Education:

Bachelor's degree in an E ngineering discipline. (Or combination of education and equivalent experience required . )

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
  • 3 + years of related quality engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control, and ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 , AS9102 , IPC - 610 J-S TD , IPC - 620 and NADCAP .
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • A bility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals .
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills .
  • Demonstrated analytical reasoning and problem solving .
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions .
  • Strong knowledge of PFMEA, PPAP, RCCA, and quality tools.
  • Strong c omputer skills including QA applications , word processing, spreadshe ets (Excel ) and databases.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), or similar is a plus.

While out on the production floor employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
