The Maintenance Technician - Evening Shift is responsible for performing cost-effective and safe maintenance, repair, modifications, and/or installations of electrical systems. This role provides electrical expertise to Maintenance Team for all aspects of electrical and electronic systems located in the facility, including IT and Security.

What You'll do
  • This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension), and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and remain authorized for the duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.
  • Ensure all work is completed in observance of standards, regulations, or practices as set forth in the National Electrical Code or other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain correct government licenses and permits, as required, to legally perform job tasks under statutory control such as an electrical journeyman's license.
  • Practice preventive maintenance, adjust, calibrate and service mechanical or electrical equipment with appropriate service as delineated in manufacturer's specifications.
  • Apply broad and in-depth knowledge of electrical and electronic test instruments to diagnose troubles with electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment, and repair or modify problems or improve performance.
  • Maintain records of initiated material requests for repair or upgrade parts or components.
  • Operate material moving and worker positioning equipment such as forklifts and boom lifts, as required.
  • Train other personnel to trouble-shoot and repair equipment at levels commensurate with their ability (i.e. minor maintenance or cross-training among peers and colleagues).
  • Promote safety orientation by example and intercede to correct unsafe situations.
  • Execute job duties in a way to ensure standards and requirements of Hilti's Environmental Management System are maintained.
  • Remain flexible and responsive in anticipation of impromptu requirements.
  • Proactively utilize talent and resources to take advantage of improvement opportunities and adhere to Business Process Manual, as appropriate.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating Hilti North America corporate projects; assist in orchestration of all project aspects.
  • Coordinate inter-company resource involvement in the project process to ensure timely delivery of requested actions by corporate customers.
  • Network Support (Assume duties from IT).
  • Install network switches, wireless access points, and other equipment; troubleshooting phone problems.
  • Make sure phones work at all new work stations; pull and terminate network cables on smaller jobs.
  • Work with cabling vendors on large jobs.
  • Maintain rack mounted and free-standing UPSs.
  • Work with suppliers to purchase cameras and outside vendors to install and update components.
  • Pull new cables into cameras and install new cameras.
  • Configure cameras in the system; diagnose and repair door access control system components.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • High School or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience required: Minimum three (3) years' experience as Electrical journeyman.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience providing network and security system support.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, SAP.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of Electrical wiring, distribution and motor control systems as well as low voltage control systems, door monitoring, security, and network systems.
