Job description

Help Lead Community Change Across Northeastern Pennsylvania!

NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania (NWNEPA) is seeking a strategic, community-focused leader to serve as our next Director of Community Development.

Reporting in to the CEO, this full-time role will lead the strategy, growth, and execution of community development initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods, build partnerships, and create measurable impact across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with community leaders to lead neighborhood revitalization and community development initiatives in Northeast PA
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with municipalities, nonprofits, residents, and other key stakeholders
  • Oversee programs, projects, budgets, grants, and funding sources for each project
  • Oversee a small and dedicated team of community development professionals and AmeriCorps members
  • Support community engagement, outreach, and organizational visibility
  • Help drive organizational strategy and long-term community impact
  • Serve as a thought-partner to the CEO
  • Some travel and occasional evening/weekend events required

What We're Looking For in a candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in community development, urban planning, public administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of proven leadership and project management experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with grants, funding management, and community partnerships preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Google platform
  • Highly organized with ability to manage competing demands
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Possession of a valid's driver's license
