Job description

Laboratory Assistant
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
$19.29 - $26.90 an hour - Half-Time Evenings, 20 hours per week
+$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support daily lab operations. This role includes patient interaction, order entry, phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary for all ages), specimen collection and processing, drug screen and breath alcohol testing, and paternity sample handling. You'll also assist with clerical duties, data entry, and use of laboratory information systems. All new support staff employees will enter as Level 1 support staff.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or higher education required.
• Six months' general hospital experience, or
• Graduation from a Medical Assistants program, or
• Graduation from a laboratory training program preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for collection and processing of laboratory specimens.
• Able to perform phlebotomy procedures as required by position.
• Responsible for accurate data entry and reporting.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Performs laboratory testing including reporting of results and quality control in assigned areas of the laboratory.
• Urine Drug Screen collection.
• Breath Alcohol testing.
• Rapid Strep screens.
